Thermes Bleu
So I believe a spa has been on this site dating back to Roman times and was given life again during the 1600's due to a novel referencing the quality of the water in the area.
The water here was sourced from six springs and has been trapped under tectonic plates and is heavy in sulphur and fluoride.
During the mid 1800's the spa you see here was built and was an extremely popular tourist destination. I guess it was expanded over time and there is also a chateau on site which I guess would of been where the guests stayed. A brief look in the chateau which was amidst renovations, didn't seem very fruitful so we were soon on our way home after a productive trip exploring abandoned beauties of France.
During the 1980's the spa struggled and eventually closed. It has been left abandoned ever since. The springs were sourced to produce water for medicinal needs but this also fell through after a short period of time.
