Sanatorium du Basil
This sanatorium has a rich history. In the 19th century there were numerous sanatoriums in Europe for the treatment of TB. This disease was known as a barely treatable disease that often ended fatally. The initiative for building this sanatorium came in 1899. A year later, the construction of the building began and in 1903 the doors were opened and the first patients were taken care of. Clean air and tranquility tcc patients often did well and therefore the location of the Sanatorium du Basil was perfect. When the TB patients could be treated better and better, the sanatorium became redundant. For a few years the building functioned as a hospital and between 2010 and 2013 refugees were taken care of here. Because of the towering energy bills the building then closed its doors and the building became the target of vandalism. The building is still not demolished, in fact, the building is for sale. For an amount of a small 1.5 million Euro, new life can be given to this building.
